#Roommates, if you are a fan of the hit Showtime series “The Chi,” then this recent update should make you pretty happy. It was just announced that legendary actor Jason Weaver and viral chef Tabitha Brown are officially joining “The Chi” for its upcoming fourth season.

@Deadline reports, “The Chi” is welcoming two new faces to its cast, as Jason Weaver (himself a Chicago native) and Tabitha Brown have both been added to the cast in recurring roles. The Lena Waithe-created drama series is currently in production in Chicago and will return for its fourth season on Showtime later this year.

As for their characters, Jason will play Rahsaad “Shaad” Marshall, an old friend of Trig’s (Luke James) who is struggling to rebuild his life. Meanwhile, Tabitha will portray the character Octavia, who is a successful interior designer who crosses paths with Kiesha (Birgundi Baker.)

Speaking about his new role, Jason Weaver wrote the following message on Twitter:

“So grateful for the opportunity to get a chance to work alongside with the phenomenal cast/crew of @SHOTheChi. S/o to my sister @LenaWaithe for ALWAYS keepin it 100!”

Created and executive produced by Lena Waithe and executive produced by Common, “The Chi” is a timely coming-of-age story revolving around a group of residents on the South Side of Chicago who become linked by coincidence but bonded by the need for connection and redemption.
